About Robert Hoepel

Robert Hoepel is a lawyer at AKD who specialises in shipping law, with a focus on dispute settlement in the case of collisions, shipbuilding and rescue and salvage matters. His clients include shipping companies and their insurers (both H&M and P&I insurers).

Robert advises and litigates in disputes on shipping insurance cover involving complex policies that deal with both marine and energy. Examples include the Institute Time Clauses Hull, the Bourse Policy for Inland Hull, pleasure yacht and CAR insurance policies. Robert also advises on marine insurance policies that are subject to Dutch law but contain standard London market clauses and/or include standard market wording.

In addition to his work for AKD Robert is the editor of Schip & Schade, a monthly publication on maritime and insurance law.
