Plato Groep acquires majority interest in Compacon

Plato Groep has acquired 80% of all issued and outstanding shares in the capital of Compacon AKD acted as advisor to the selling shareholders.

Compacon shall continue its operations as an independent organisation within the Plato Groep under its current name. One of the two shareholders of Compacon will retain a minority interest and will remain involved with the company as CEO for several years after the transaction. The other shareholder has fully withdrawn from the company upon completion of the transaction.

Compacon, established in 1992, is a leading distributor on the promotional products market. From offices in Barendrecht and Eindhoven, its 31 employees provide medium- to large-sized organisations, companies and institutions within and outside of the Netherlands with a large range of promotional products. Corporate premium programs, sales promotion and promotional marketing, custom made products and web shop solutions are at the core of Compacon's business.

Plato Groep, parent company of Clipper B.V. and IGO-POST B.V., has since 1945 operated as an international importer and distributor of printed promotional products. From its Dutch headquarters, where its central warehouse and printing facilities are located, as well as from its offices in Belgium, Germany, Austria, England, France and Denmark, Plato Groep services a diverse customer base throughout Europe.

The team of AKD was comprised of Carlos Pita Cao, Laura de Jong and David Molenaar. JBR Corporate Finance was involved as M&A advisor to sellers.

Purchaser was assisted by Holla Advocaten and KPMG Meijburg & Co.
