Technology | AKD advises Cathay Capital and its portfolio company Powell Software on acquisition of Synigo

A multidisciplinary AKD team advised Cathay Capital and its portfolio company Powell Software on the acquisition of Synigo, a Dutch provider of digital workplace solutions. The transaction was announced on September 1, 2026.

Powell Software is a French digital workplace platform built on Microsoft 365 that helps organisations improve collaboration, communication and employee productivity. With the acquisition of Synigo, Powell combines two complementary European platforms and gains a direct operational footprint in the Netherlands and the Benelux region. Synigo Pulse is specifically designed for frontline employees, enabling the combined company to serve 100% of an organisation’s workforce. Together, Powell and Synigo now serve more than 800 organisations and 2.5 million users worldwide.

The M&A team was led by Wouter Kros and further consisted of inter alia Jesse Algra (Corporate), Kyoko Tollenaar and Anouk Voeten (Notarial), Ludo Luijks and Maud Plattel (Tax), Jorn de Bruijn (Employment) and Sophie Hendriks and Lisa Machgeels (IP/IT/Data Protection).
