About Arie van der Meij

An attorney-at-law who has been with AKD since 2023, Arie van der Meij specialises in Dutch employment law.

Arie has experience handling national and international matters relating to dismissal law, reorganisations, the employment law aspects of mergers and acquisitions, and issues concerning employees on sick leave. A personal commitment to his clients and building a lasting relationship of trust are central to Arie's approach. This enables him to understand what is really at stake and to tailor his advice entirely to the situation and needs of his clients.

In addition to his work at AKD, Arie regularly publishes articles in specialist employment law literature. His publications cover a wide range of subjects, including the employment law and social security law provisions relating to pregnancy and childbirth, sickness, as well as protection against dismissal and the rights and obligations of employers in situations where employees, due to illness, performs their contracted duties partly or entirely from home.
