AKD advises Jifmar Group on acquisition of fleet of workboats from Seacontractors

September 4, 2025

A multidisciplinary AKD team has advised Jifmar Group on its acquisition of a Middle Eastern fleet of 15 workboats from Seacontractors. After advising Acta Marine two years ago on the complex carve-out sale of its workboats division to Jifmar, our team now advised Jifmar Group as lead counsel, coordinating with various other jurisdictions.

Jifmar Group, which is backed by pan-European infrastructure investor Marguerite, continues to expand its offshore capabilities through strategic acquisitions. The newly acquired vessels, primarily operating in the Middle East, will be accompanied by the transfer of 183 Seacontractors staff members, including seafarers and the onshore office team in the region.

The AKD team advised Jifmar on all legal aspects of the transaction. Led by Lennart Crain, the team consisted of Ralph Ledeboer, Christiaan Schuurs, and Lisanne Maes (Corporate M&A), Renate Punt-Huizer, Romy Mattens, Dominic Guljé, Daan ter Wee and Chantal Marquart (Notarial and Finance), Guido de Vos (Transport), Joost Houdijk (Competition), Mariëlle van Winden, Jorn de Bruin (Employment & Pensions), Bram Woltering, Sophie Hendriks, and Bente van Dijk (IP, IT and Data Protection), and Ludo Luijks, Maarten Prevoo, Joost van Benthum, Maud Plattel and Quinten Martens (Tax).
