AKD advised Provincie Noord-Brabant and the Municipality of Helmond on the acquisition of 100% of the shares in Automotive Campus Helmond — one of the Netherlands' leading innovation hubs for mobility and energy technology — from Bouwbedrijf Van de Ven (Veghel). The transaction was structured through each of Provincie Noord-Brabant and the Municipality of Helmond acquiring 50% of the shares in the campus. As a result, the campus organisation, its land, and seven buildings across approximately 4.5 hectares are now fully publicly owned.

The acquisition represents a significant step in safeguarding public control over one of the Netherlands' leading automotive and mobility innovation campuses, which brings together industry, education and research in the Brainport region. It is one of the largest corporate transactions the Municipality of Helmond has ever entered into, marking its significance for the south of the Netherlands.

The M&A team was led by David Molenaar and Carlos Pita Cao, and further consisted of Julian Versmissen, Bas Scheepers, Jamaal Mohuddy, Keesjan Meijering, Sammie Elbertsen, Ludo Luijks, Maarten Prevoo, Joost Houdijk.
