About Robert van Vugt

Robert van Vugt is an attorney-at-law at AKD who specialises in complex litigation and advisory work in both commercial disputes and cross-border collective redress proceedings. With more than a decade of experience, he has developed particular expertise in large-scale damages and class action litigation, primarily acting for claimant organisations. He is actively involved in high-profile collective actions, including emissions cases as well as major data protection and privacy class actions against big tech companies.

While his primary focus is on the claimant side, Robert also has experience acting for defendants in class actions, giving him a broad perspective on the strategic considerations of both sides. This dual insight allows him to anticipate opposing arguments and deliver practical, effective solutions tailored to his clients’ objectives.
