AKD advises Remia on its acquisition of the Oils & Fats business of Wouters

Sauces manufacturer Remia, based in Den Dolder (the Netherlands), acquired the oils and fats business of Wouters in Lokeren (Belgium). The acquisition fits Remia's strategy to continue to expand both autonomously and through acquisitions in the coming years. As part of the acquisition, Remia's Belgian affiliate Pauwels, better known as Sauzen Pauwels, will become the exclusive distributor of the Wouters oils and fats brands in Belgium and France.

Remia is one of the best-known sauce brands in the Netherlands. A family-owned business, Remia produces sauces, margarines and fats for consumers, catering and industrial use.

About Pauwels
Pauwels is one of the largest sauces manufacturers of Europe. The Belgian manufacturer is a strong player in the private label sauces, as well as co-packer for numerous A brands.

About Wouters
Wouters is a Belgian family-owned business active in the field of bakery necessities, oils and fats, selling its products mainly in the food service supply chain and to the food industry. The products are known in the market under different brand names such as Fribel, Bofri and Palmax.
