About Joost Möhlmann

Joost Möhlmann is an attorney-at-law at AKD who specialises in European private law and civil procedural law. Collective redress actions, domestic and international, are at the heart of his practice, with a particular focus on cartel damage claims. In court, he mostly represents claimants, including qualified entities (usually foundations or associations) established for the particular purpose of bringing collective action.

In addition to his law practice, Joost regularly publishes articles and gives guest lectures on collective redress and European private law.

Joost is the president and a founding member of The European Circle for Competition Damages AISBL, in Brussels, and also a member of the Dutch Association for Procedural Law [Nederlandse Vereniging voor Procesrecht]. He completed three specialisation courses with distinction: Enterprise and Liability (Grotius Academy), Financing and Securities (Grotius Academy), and the Civil Procedural Law course (Academie voor de Rechtspraktijk).

Legal practice areas the Netherlands Bar’s register

Joost Möhlmann has registered the following principal (and secondary) legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):

 

  • Civil procedural law (Litigation)

 

Based on this registration, Joost is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
