AKD has advised Scope Capital on its majority investment in Stone Fashion Group, adding the fashion group to their portfolio by acquiring a 60% stake.
Founded in 1957 in Amsterdam, Stone Fashion Group has evolved from an outerwear specialist into a global consumer brands group. It is the Dutch fashion group behind brands such as Goldbergh, Beaumont, Reset, District and Creenstone. Goldbergh, its flagship brand, is sold in 66 markets through over 700 retailers and is known for premium ski and active wear, combining design, technical features and sustainable quality.
The Stone Fashion group is Scope Capital’s latest portfolio company. Its founders are reinvesting alongside Scope and remain closely involved in the business.
In this platform acquisition, AKD acted as lead counsel and advised on all legal aspects of the transaction and acquisition financing, under both Dutch and Luxembourg law.
For more information on the transaction, please see the press release by Scope Capital here and the newspaper article in the Dutch Financial Times (FD) here.
